Why I Started My Practice
I started my special education law practice with a vision in mind: to help families of students with disabilities enforce their rights, and to obtain better educational outcomes for students and youth with disabilities. I also wanted to partner with civil rights organizations, nonprofits, and other attorneys in effectively advocating for youth with disabilities. After becoming a member of the Ninth Circuit and Supreme Court bars, I realized the potential to argue more IDEA cases at the appellate level and achieve better special education case law.
Why do I do what I do? I often receive cards, letters, and photos from clients over the years. When I hear about my former clients achieving their goals, graduating from school, receiving the services and education they fought so hard to receive, it makes the long nights and battles worth it.
